Guest Author: Tekeyla Friday

Tekeyla Friday has always had a wild imagination and she enjoys the written word. When she was eight-years-old, she knew she wanted a career as a writer. “Kadin and the Dragon” and “Princess Butterfly” were published in R.E.A.L. Canadian Kids Magazine. These short stories, written for children, was the launching pad of Tekeyla’s career. Since then she has published a picture book, Bothers: Powers of the Archangel Michael, and she is working on polishing Willow and the Ugly Duckling.

Tekeyla Friday is the Children’s Program Coordinator for the Chinook Regional Library and she has written and performed over one hundred puppet plays for children. She teaches Top Secret Kids’ Writing Camp – a program for tweens, and in the past she has taught teen writing programs and mentored adults. She was interviewed in 2016 by Jennifer Foster and appears as part of an article in Novel and Shorty Story Writer’s Market 2017.

Tekeyla belongs to the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild, Savvy Authors, and Prairie Quills Writers’ Group. In her spare time she helps self-publishing authors put together ebooks and design covers.
