The Sage Hill Writing Board of Directors is pleased to announce the successful completion of its Executive Director search, and welcomes Tara Dawn Solheim to the role.
“We are extremely excited to have Tara Dawn as Executive Director,”said Rhett Soveran, President of the Sage Hill Writing Board of Directors. “Her experience and energy will take Sage Hill to fantastic new heights.”
Solheim is poet, writer, musician, singer, and administrator in the Arts. She has an international background, living in Japan for five years, and has been commissioned to create and perform poetry and music throughout Canada, the United States, Japan, and England. For the past four years she has worked as Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Orchestral Association. During this time she produced and hosted The Vertigo Series in Regina, a performance event series for writers and musicians of all genres. She’s also worked as volunteer with writers through the Literary Committee of the Cathedral Village Arts Festival in Regina.
When it comes to Sage Hill, Solheim is no stranger. She’s attended many public readings and Kroetsch Keynotes over the years, participated in Sage Hill Workshops to better her own manuscripts, and served on our Board of Directors. She knows, from first-hand experience, the intricate inner workings of Sage Hill, and is ready to begin her leadership role with a vast knowledge base, and hit the ground running.
“I look forward to working with writers as they build their skills and careers,” Solheim says. “I believe in the value of the experience that Sage Hill offers and I’m thrilled to be part of this tradition.”
Welcome Tara Dawn!
